Getting Johnny Silverhand’s Gear in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game about choice. It’s a game about loot and gear, and of course, style. In the world of Night City, the coolest rocker there is, is good old Johnny Silverhand. A pain in the arse? Sure. But the dude is cool, no matter which way you spin it.

To look like the legend himself and unlock the “Breathtaking” achievement, you need to collect seven specific items.

Most of these are tied to the side job Chippin’ In, while others are hidden within specific Gigs.

So, here’s our quick guide on how to get all of Johnny Silverhand’s gear.

Step-by-Step guide

1. The main story rewards

Johnny Silverhand’s Tank Top is the easiest to get. You will receive it automatically after completing the main story quest Tapeworm in Cyberpunk 2077. It involves several conversations with Johnny throughout the game.

The least desirable item in the list, if you ask me! But it completes the look and the achievement. So, it’s a must.

2. The “Chippin’ In” Haul

After completing Tapeworm, Rogue will call you to start Chippin’ In. This single mission contains the bulk of his gear:

  • Samurai Jacket (Replica): Rogue will give this to you near the start of the mission at the Afterlife.
  • Malorian Arms 3516 (Johnny’s Gun): When you confront Jeremiah Grayson on the ship Ebunike, you will take the pistol from him during the interaction.
  • It’s a great gun, and well worth having. For me, personally, it’s my favourite in Cyberpunk 2077.
  • Johnny’s Aviators: These are handed to you automatically as you progress through the mission’s story beats.
  • Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo: After defeating Grayson, you have a choice to spare or kill him. If you spare him, he gives you the keycard and tells you to lower a crane. If you kill him, loot the keycard from his body. You must then manually find the control panel on the crane nearby to lower the shipping container containing the car.

Getting Johnny Silverhand’s car is my favourite loot-grab in the game, for sure.

3. The Missable Gigs

Two pieces are hidden in side-gigs and can be missed if you aren’t looking for them.

  • Johnny’s Pants: During Gig: Psychofan (located in Heywood), head to the bedroom of the apartment. The pants are inside a pink suitcase next to the bed.
  • Johnny’s Shoes: During Gig: Family Heirloom (located in Charter Hill), look inside the locker in the same room where you find the objective (the bootleg recording).

Be careful during “Gig: Family Heirloom”—some players report that the area becomes inaccessible after completing the mission, so make sure to grab the shoes before you leave.

That’s it!

Not the most complicated or convoluted list of tasks to accomplish. But Johnny Silverhand is easily one of the coolest characters in modern gaming. Certainly a bit of an arsehole to start with.

Attitude or not, who doesn’t want a free Porsche? And Johnny Silverhand’s Samurai jacket is iconic, both in-game and out.

Follow the story through, and you’ll get the bulk of the gear so you can cosplay as the ghost that’s in your head. Alternatively, you can acquire it simply because you’re a completionist. Or, not at all.

It’s up to you, but at least you have all the information that you need to get it.

Be careful in Night City, it’s a dangerous place. Get geared up and ready to run the streets of Cyberpunk 2077.
