Toshihiro Nagoshi, the creator of Yakuza, has a new studio and a new game. He left SEGA in 2021 and formed Nagoshi Studio with NetEase in 2022. At The Game Awards 2025, the studio revealed its first project: Gang of Dragon.

The action-adventure game sticks close to Nagoshi’s style. The cinematic trailer shows a tone similar to Yakuza, but it isn’t bound by the series’ rules. Players will explore Kabukicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo’s famous nightlife district.

South Korean actor Ma Dong-seok, also known as Don Lee, stars as Shin Ji-seong. He plays a high-ranking member of a Korean crime syndicate. Don Lee is known for Train to Busan, Eternals, The Outlaws, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

“I’m both relieved and deeply focused as we finally reach the day to unveil Gang of Dragon,” Nagoshi said. He promises a human drama rooted in the real streets of Kabukicho. The teaser is just a glimpse of what’s coming.

There’s no release date yet, and platforms beyond PC haven’t been confirmed. The game is deep in development and could appear at events in 2026, with a possible 2027 release. Fans will have to wait for more details.
