Gamescom 2025 is almost here, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest weeks in gaming this year. With E3 now a thing of the past, Gamescom has taken the crown as the event for new reveals, hands-on demos, and those surprise announcements that get everyone talking.

Gamescom 2025 opening night

Gamescom 2025 begins with Opening Night Live on 19 August, where Activision will headline with the worldwide reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Capcom is also returning to showcase more of Resident Evil: Requiem, while Blizzard will drop the cinematic for World of Warcraft: Midnight. You can expect a mix of world premieres, gameplay showcases, and big-name guests throughout the night.

Hollow Knight, Switch 2, and Nintendo’s big return

Fans of Hollow Knight: Silksong will finally get to go hands-on with playable demos running on both Microsoft and Nintendo hardware. It’s also a major comeback for Nintendo, which skipped Gamescom last year. The Switch 2 will be front and centre, showing off Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Nintendo’s booth is stacked with big hitters like Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Borderlands 4, Hades II, Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and more. Visitors can grab exclusive pins, earn Platinum Points, and jump into tournaments for Mario Kart, Super Mario Party Jamboree, EA FC, Mario Strikers, and F-Zero GX.

Over 1,500 games and exhibitors

The Gamescom 2025 show floor will be busy, with over 1,500 exhibitors confirmed. Highlights include Crimson Desert, Path of Exile 2, Once Human, Little Nightmares 3, and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.

Konami is bringing their new Silent Hill F and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater. It’s not just Konami. EA Sports is also giving fans an early shot at EA FC 26 ahead of its September launch.

Plenty of smaller but noteworthy games will also be on display, from Morbid Metal to The Rogue Prince of Persia. Whether you’re chasing AAA blockbusters or hidden indie gems, there’s something for everyone.
