Stark here with some words for your keen little eyes.
The astute among you (Oh, who am I kidding, that’s the whole bloody lot of you) will have noticed there’s been a few changes around these parts. Chiefly that Full Sync Gaming is now FULLSYNC – and a few bits of promo material and, most importantly, our domain name, have been changed to reflect that.
fullsyncgaming.co.uk will still redirect you to to the page you know and love for the next year or so, when that domain expires, but by then nukes will have ravaged the world and no-one will remember us as Full Sync Gaming anyway.
FULLSYNC.CO.UK – WHAT’S DIFFERENT?
During one of our staff chats we realised that what we wanted to work on going forward was much broader than we initially thought. I personally have worked in online journalism for the better part of a decade by now, and my colleagues Chris and Josh have equal experience in games journalism. It will always form a massive core of FULLSYNC, as will our work with the streaming community.
As long as I hold the reins we’re going to continue offering free advertising for cool people and things. We are still predominantly a games site. But we can challenge ourselves to do so much more if we broaden our coverage and start writing about other stuff too. So what’s actually going to happen? What’s going to make FULLSYNC different from every other generic content mill desperate for your Facebook likes and page traffic?
1) GODDAMN GIVEAWAYS
Getting involved with FULLSYNC is a one-way ticket to Giveaway City. We’ve already given a ton of stuff away! Hardware, games, editing software, the right to name Josh’s first born child! Just some of the things you’ve already missed out on if you haven’t been keeping a careful eye on us since. We’ve got some even bigger stuff on the horizon, too (We’re not letting you name any of our children again though. Boaty McBoatface Maddox is in for a rough time at school… and his entire life).
2) ZERO CLICKBAIT – YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT WE DID FOR #3!
These days you can’t move on the internet for some desperate beg of a page trying to lure you into looking at their adverts with cheesy, worn out celebrity lists, or shocking titles leading into completely mediocre events. We’re not going to do any of that. Sure, we’re going to start covering a wider variety of subjects and reviewing stuff like movies, live wrestling, conventions of all shapes and sizes.
We’re always going to be transparent, and if we’re trying to sell you something, or get you to check out another page, we’re just going to straight up ask you. It might not be as successful – hell, I’d rather go and look at another list of of top ten secret celebrity Illuminati members too, but come on, guys, let’s make dreams happen.
3) I HAVE NOTHING INTERESTING FOR #3 AND CAN’T BELIEVE I’VE BROKEN MY PROMISES TO YOU ALREADY
4) THE CORE CONTENT – INTERVIEWS, SUPPORT, PROFILES, REVIEWS – IS ALL STILL GOING TO BE THERE! WE’RE JUST GONNA BE DOING IT ABOUT MORE STUFF!
And as mainstream politics has consistently proved to us over the past year, quantity beats quality every time. We’re going to be covering games, UFC, WWE, and eSports – admittedly in reserved measures until we get a few more writers on board, but it will be with the same energy, dedication and occasional subversion we’ve covered games with so far.
By covering more bases we get more views, more views means more giveaways, more support we can extend to our partners, more cool stuff we get to write. In a few months, the FULLSYNC TALKING podcast is going to be a regular thing and you’ll be able to get to know us as a group.
We’ll have guests on, we’ll be spotlighting the best indie titles and content creators out there, and routinely yelling #BROKENMATTHARDY memes until WWE and Anthem team up to hit me with a cease and desist. There will be more on our growth and development in the coming days, but for now, IT’S OVER!
Much love,
Stark, Josh, and Chris.
