During its latest Konami: Press Start showcase, Konami kicked things off with a familiar face, the same Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater trailer shown at Summer Game Fest 2025. But just when it seemed like a repeat, the publisher dropped something fresh: an all-new multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt.

Unlike Metal Gear Online, Fox Hunt is an entirely original take on multiplayer gameplay, designed specifically for Metal Gear Solid Delta. It’s not a revival, but a reinvention, bringing a modern approach to the stealth gameplay the series is known for.

A new twist for Snake Eater fans: What is Fox Hunt?

Directed by Yu Sahara, Fox Hunt builds on the classic hide-and-seek style of stealth that made Metal Gear famous. Sahara noted that while fans still discuss Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer space has evolved, and this mode reflects that shift.

Instead of direct combat or traditional team battles, Fox Hunt focuses on survival through stealth. Players are dropped into environments where staying hidden and using camouflage is key. Konami says the mode “broadens the franchise’s core stealth element where players must utilise their environments to camouflage and evade opposing players.”

Details are still under wraps, such as how many players will be supported, what types of match types will be available, or whether cross-play will be a feature, but the concept alone has already caught attention. If you’re hoping for a mode that rewards strategy, patience, and clever movement, this sounds like one to watch.

With the full game releasing on 28 August 2025, more info on Fox Hunt should be right around the corner.

Silent Hill remake also in the works

Konami didn’t stop at Metal Gear. They also confirmed that Bloober Team, who recently led the remake of Silent Hill 2, will now be handling a full remake of the original Silent Hill.

After the strong reception to Silent Hill 2, it’s clear that Bloober’s direction has earned Konami’s trust. Now, the studio is returning to the eerie, fog-drenched streets that started the horror series. No date was given yet, but it’s official, the classic is coming back.

Silent Hill

Whether you’re into tactical stealth or survival horror, Konami’s message is clear: the past is being reimagined, and it’s coming back with a vengeance. With Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and Silent Hill both making headlines again, 2025 is shaping up to be a major year for two of gaming’s most iconic franchises.
