Microsoft has officially announced Forza Horizon 6 during its Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast. The next entry in the series will take players to Japan, with a release set for 2026. A cinematic trailer debuted during the show, confirming what fans had long speculated.

In an interview on the Xbox Wire blog, Playground Games Art Director Don Arceta teased that the new open world will “blow away” players with its scale and detail. Tokyo City will feature neon lights and towering buildings, while rural landscapes and mountain regions will showcase Japan’s natural beauty. Arceta noted that the aim is not to recreate Japan exactly, but to capture its cultural essence in the “Horizon way.”

Seasons will also return in Forza Horizon 6. Cultural Consultant Kyoko Yamashita explained how spring, summer, autumn, and winter will shape tone, activity, and sound across the world. Small touches, like station chimes or summer wind bells, are designed to ground players in the setting without needing captions.

Forza Horizon 6 is due to launch in 2026 for PC and Xbox first, with a PlayStation 5 version confirmed to arrive later. More details are expected in early 2026.
