Formula Legends brings sim-cade racing nostalgia to PC and consoles Sept 2025

Fire up the engines and rewind racing history, Formula Legends is officially set to launch on 18th September, with a new playable demo available right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch players won’t have long to wait either, with a Switch demo landing on 14th August.

Developed by Italian indie outfit 3DClouds, Formula Legends is a sim-cade racer fuelled by passion for motorsport’s golden years. It blends simulation elements like tyre wear, fuel consumption, track evolution and dynamic weather with the accessibility of arcade-style controls and extensive driving assists.

From the ’70s to the 2020s

Players can dive into three iconic racing eras — the mid-’70s, early ’90s, and mid-’20s — each with their own cars, liveries, drivers and era-appropriate physics. With custom races and time attack modes across modern and classic layouts of Belgium and Hungary, Formula Legends captures the soul of competitive motorsport without the price of a season pass or a hardware rig.

Demo highlights

The updated demo builds on the 50,000-strong response from June’s Steam Next Fest and brings a stack of new features:

  • New extreme weather options (including full-on storms)
  • Fully customisable gameplay settings to suit all playstyles
  • New rear wing and cockpit cams based on fan feedback
  • A sharper handling model and improved AI racing behaviour

Whether you want to experience tense, strategic battles or just send it into Eau Rouge with no assists and full slicks in the rain, Formula Legends has the tools to let you race your way.
