Originally released in early access on June 22, 2023, Forever Skies has seen constant development, with the team at Far From Home taking community feedback to heart. From regular patches to major overhauls, the journey to version 1.0 has been shaped by both players and developers alike.
And now, that journey culminates in a huge content drop. The 1.0 release adds several new biomes and locations to explore, massive lifeforms that tower over the ruins of the world, and new airship building features. Players can expect fresh tools and technology to enhance survival, alongside balance updates and performance improvements. Most notably, the final chapter of the story is now playable, bringing a complete narrative to the post-apocalyptic skies.

In a press release celebrating the launch, Andrzej Blumenfeld, CEO of Far From Home, said:
“We’re extremely proud to be launching Forever Skies 1.0 officially today. We spent 21+ months in Early Access, working really closely with our community who helped us to shape the game every step of the way. So to them and everyone who got behind us, we want to say a massive thank you!”
We had a chance to review Forever Skies during its early access phase and came away impressed. Despite a few rough edges, the game offered a solid and surprisingly relaxing survival loop. The atmospheric world design struck a delicate balance between beauty and isolation, and the airship-building mechanics felt rewarding.

While we did note a laggy cutscene at the start, the rest of the game more than made up for it. It’s a title that eases you in without overwhelming you—something many survival games struggle with.

With its 1.0 launch, Forever Skies feels like it’s stepping into its full potential. It’s now available to download on PlayStation 5 and PC.
