Unboxing
In the unboxing experience, the first thing to notice is the box itself. It is made of sturdy black cardboard, giving it a premium feel. The front of the box is quite interesting, featuring a textured drawing of an astronaut with “TH99” written on the helmet. Alongside it, there is a detailed image of the keyboard, and the make and model are prominently displayed in large, bold fonts.

The back of the box also includes a drawing of the keyboard, along with basic information and key features.

Inside, the keyboard is neatly packed in a protective plastic cover, ensuring it stays clean and safe during shipping. Additional accessories, including the USB-C cable, keycap puller, and switch puller, are stored separately in their designated compartments. A user manual is also included to help with setup. With these essentials, the TH99 is ready to use straight away, allowing you to start customising and enjoying your new keyboard with minimal effort.

Closer look: Build & design
The EPOMAKER TH99 is a 96% layout keyboard with 102 keys. Despite its compact design, I didn’t feel any difficulty using it, as no essential keys were missing. The Print and Delete keys, along with the Home and End navigation keys, are placed in the right spots, making the layout easy to use.

The keyboard comes in two colour options: black and white-blue. In this review, we will talk about the white-blue version. This colour variant features a mix of three shades—white, a slightly deep blue, and a washed light blue. The washed light blue is used for the main body of the keyboard, which is made of ABS plastic. Below the numeric pad, you will find EPOMAKER’s branding, adding a subtle touch to the design.

Looking at the back of the keyboard, Four silicone pads at the bottom help keep it in place and prevent slipping. At the centre of the back, there is a silver-coloured metal plate with TH99 branding, giving the keyboard a premium and stylish finish.

The keyboard also features a gasket-mounted structure, making keystrokes smooth and quiet. The two-stage adjustable kickstand allows you to set a comfortable typing angle, making long typing sessions easier.

Keycaps & switches
The EPOMAKER TH99 comes with Creamy Jade Linear switches that feel smooth and make a deep, rich sound when typing. Even without any changes or mods, they sound like mahjong tiles on a soft table. These switches need 45g of force to press, similar to many gaming keyboards, but they still feel a bit heavier, making typing more satisfying.

The keyboard comes with blue and white keycaps in a Cherry OEM shape. While they work well, some people might not like how they look. Luckily, the TH99 supports custom keycaps, so you can easily swap them for a design you prefer.

One great thing about this keyboard is its 1800 layout, which means it has a full numpad. This is not common, especially at this price, and is great for those who need a numpad but don’t want a very large keyboard. However, the Delete key is placed a little farther than usual, which might take some time to get used to. Typing on the TH99 was smooth and felt really nice. The keycaps and switches were good quality, and I didn’t feel like changing anything.
RGB lighting and EPOMAKER TH99 drivers
The EPOMAKER TH99 has bright and colourful RGB lighting with 102 small lights under the keys. The colours look smooth and clear, making the keyboard stand out. It comes with different lighting effects, and you can also change colours and patterns using software. One effect looks like small lights blinking, which some people may not like. But overall, the lighting makes the keyboard look nice, especially in a dark room.

For customisation, you can download the EPOMAKER TH99 driver from EPOMAKER’s website. The software offers a wide range of customisation options, including macro settings, lighting effects and patterns, real-time lighting mode, and custom profiles. Overall, the EPOMAKER TH99 driver provides excellent and easy-to-use customisation features.

User experience
My experience with the EPOMAKER TH99 has been excellent. From the moment I unboxed it, the premium feel of the packaging set high expectations, and the keyboard itself did not disappoint. The 96% layout is well-designed, providing all necessary keys without taking up too much space. It feels solid on the desk, and the build quality gives a sense of durability. Typing on it is smooth and comfortable, thanks to the gasket mount design and well-tuned switches.
The RGB lighting is bright and customisable, adding a stylish touch to my setup. Setting up the keyboard was simple, and the multiple connectivity options, including wireless modes, worked without any issues. The software offers easy customisation for macros, lighting effects, and key remapping, making it a versatile choice. Whether for work or gaming, the EPOMAKER TH99 delivers a satisfying and enjoyable experience, and I can see myself using it as my main keyboard for a long time.
Connectivity & battery
The EPOMAKER TH99 offers great connectivity options, making it easy to use for both work and gaming. It supports three modes: USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth 5.0. In wired mode, the keyboard has a super-fast 1,000Hz polling rate, making every key press quick and accurate. The 2.4GHz mode gives a low 5ms latency, perfect for smooth gaming. Bluetooth 5.0 is also a great option for multitasking, letting you switch between devices easily with an 11ms latency. The keyboard works well with Windows, Mac, and Android, so you can connect without any extra setup.

Battery life is another strong point. With a large 4000mAh battery, the EPOMAKER TH99 can last up to 800 hours with the RGB lighting turned off. Even with lighting on, it performs well, giving long hours of use before needing a recharge. This means less worrying about battery life and more time enjoying a seamless typing experience.
