It’s official, EA is pulling the plug on The Sims Mobile next year. The game’s final day will be 20 January 2026, bringing an end to its seven-year run. A final update dropped on 20 October, setting up a handful of farewell events before the servers go dark for good.
When it first launched in March 2018, The Sims Mobile gave players a full Sims experience on the go, building homes, forming relationships, and watching their digital lives unfold. But soon, that world will disappear completely. The game will be removed from app stores on 21 October, and when the servers shut down at 1:59 pm UTC on the final day, it won’t even work for those who still have it installed.
A farewell gift for The Sims Mobile fans before goodbye
As a final gesture, EA is unlocking all content on 6 January, giving fans two weeks of unlimited access before everything shuts off. The team thanked players for sticking around, calling these last months a chance to “finish projects, make memories, and celebrate their Sims.”

There’s no clear reason for the closure, but reports point to Project Stories, a new Sims mobile title in development. Whether it’s to make way for that or part of EA’s wider restructuring, The Sims Mobile is heading into its final chapter.
