Dune: Awakening, the open-world survival MMO from Funcom, has been pushed back slightly. Originally set for a May 20 launch, the PC (Steam) release is now locked in for June 10, with advanced access starting June 5.

The Dune team shared the news alongside a thoughtful message for fans. After weeks of community updates, character creator previews, and closed beta testing, they’ve decided a little more time is needed to polish things up. With the ongoing Persistent Closed Beta and a preview event involving press and creators, feedback has flowed in, and the developers are listening.
They say the delay will allow them to tackle key improvements raised by testers. While the wait stretches just three more weeks, it sets the stage for a large-scale beta weekend in May, letting even more players get hands-on before launch. Details on that are coming soon.

Funcom calls Dune: Awakening a “beast of a game,” and they’re aiming high. This is survival gameplay on a massive multiplayer scale, and the team wants to ensure everything lands smoothly from day one.

A new developer livestream focusing on combat is available on Steam, YouTube, and Twitch.
