Dune: Awakening pre-orders are live, and we’ve got all the details on editions, PC specs, and what to expect at launch.
Pre-orders and special editions
Launching on 20th May, Dune: Awakening is the latest survival MMO from Funcom, set in the deadly deserts of Arrakis. Pre-orders are open now on Steam, offering three editions:
- Standard Edition ($49.99) – Base game.
- Deluxe Edition ($69.99) – Includes Sardaukar armour, a season pass for four DLCs, and a 5-day head start.
- Ultimate Edition ($89.99) – Adds Paul Atreides’ stillsuit, a digital artbook, an extended soundtrack, unique colour patterns, and the Caladan Palace Set.
All pre-orders come with a universal colour pattern and the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, an in-game decoration housing the famous desert mouse.

Business model and Dune: Awakening post-launch plans
Unlike many MMOs, Dune: Awakening will launch as a full game—no early access, no subscription. Expect regular free updates with new content and features. DLCs will be optional, following a traditional model.
Funcom has a strong history of supporting live games, with Conan Exiles still getting updates after eight years. Dune: Awakening will follow the same long-term approach.
PC features and system requirements
The game is pushing visual fidelity with NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR, and Intel XeSS 2. Razer Chroma RGB and Razer Sensa HD Haptics will add immersive lighting and tactile feedback.

Behind the music
Dune: Awakening will feature an original soundtrack by award-winning composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen, recorded with a live orchestra at AIR Lyndhurst Studio in London. Funcom has released a behind-the-scenes video detailing the process.
