Nintendo has announced Drag x Drive, a brand-new three-versus-three sports game built for the upcoming Switch 2, and it’s bringing a fresh way to play. The game takes full advantage of the Joy-Con 2 controllers’ new mouse-like motion controls, letting players steer, speed up, and pull off tricks in a way that feels entirely new. It’s set to launch this summer.

Nintendo describes Drag x Drive (pronounced “Drag and Drive”) as a fast-paced online experience where players will need to master the dual-mouse controls of the Joy-Con 2. You’ll be using both controllers at the same time to manoeuvre, make plays, and even perform high-flying dunks. It sounds like a mix of high-speed movement and precision gameplay, with an intuitive control system that could shake up the competitive scene.
There’s still a lot we don’t know, like how exactly the game works, what kind of arenas we’ll be playing in, and whether there are different vehicles or characters to choose from. But with Nintendo rolling out new tech for the Switch 2’s controllers, Drag x Drive could be a showcase of what’s possible with this new input method.
