New trailer and story details

Alongside the release date, a 10-minute trailer was unveiled, showing fresh characters and story beats. Elle Fanning plays Tomorrow, while Shioli Kutsuna takes on the role of Rainy. Italian actor Luca Marinelli plays Neil—a character with an uncanny resemblance to Metal Gear’s Solid Snake, something Kojima himself noted years ago.

The sequel sees Sam Bridges embarking on another perilous journey to save humanity. With otherworldly threats looming, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach explores the consequences of connection. Should we have linked up at all?

More on Kojima’s plans

Beyond this sequel, Kojima is also producing a Death Stranding film adaptation, though details remain scarce. Given his reputation for cinematic storytelling, expectations are high.
