Cronos: The New Dawn has now sold over 500,000 units across all platforms. Bloober Team confirmed the milestone. I can say it deserves to be doing even better. This one sits high on my GOTY list. It’s a proper treat for anyone who enjoys horror, even if it leans more into atmosphere than jump scares.

Cronos launched in September 2025, so it took around two and a half months to reach this sales point. It also holds a Very Positive rating on Steam, which says a lot about how players feel about it.

You step into the role of a Traveller working for a mysterious group known as the Collective. Your job is to track down time rifts hidden across a bleak future wasteland. These rifts send you straight back to 1980s Poland, where you must find key people who died before the world collapsed. With the help of a device called the Harvester, you pull their Essences back into the future, and they travel with you.

The world is bleak, strange, and full of danger. Old, broken structures merge with odd futuristic tech, giving the game a style that feels both familiar and unsettling. The enemies roaming this world are twisted things, shaped from whatever humanity left behind. You will need every weapon and tool you have if you want to survive.

It’s a strong, confident third-person adventure, and easily the best work Bloober Team has done so far. It sets a high bar for whatever they choose to make next.

If you’re still unsure, there’s a free PC demo waiting for you. Give it a go. It might surprise you.
