Pearl Abyss has released a 15-minute gameplay overview for Crimson Desert, the open-world action adventure coming on 19 March 2026. The trailer focuses on the story, Pywel’s regions, and the mix of medieval and futuristic combat. You can check it out below.
Crimson Desert: Kliff and the Open World of Pywel
The game began as a next-gen MMORPG seven years ago but was overhauled into a single-player adventure. After several delays, Pearl Abyss has confirmed the game is officially gold.
Players take control of Kliff, a Greymane warrior defending his people. When peace is shattered, he sets out to reclaim his homeland and reunite his allies. During his journey, he discovers a dark threat tied to the Abyss, a realm of dangerous power.
Pywel, the game’s open world, has five regions: Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, Delesyia, and the Crimson Desert. Each area has its own story and environment, and players can explore freely.

The overview also shows two additional playable characters unlocked through the story. Combat blends sword-and-shield battles with futuristic moments, including piloting giant missile-launching mechs.
Crimson Desert promises wide exploration, varied combat, and a story that guides players across Pywel.
