The Champions Chess Tour (CCT), known for its rapid-fire matches and star-studded player rosters, will serve as the main qualifying path for the top players hoping to make it to Riyadh. Two online Tour events in February and May 2025, offering a combined $300k prize pool, will determine which elite players earn the right to compete at the grand stage in late summer.
Magnus Carlsen joins as a Global Ambassador
Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, will join as the game’s global ambassador at the EWC.
