Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse was revealed during the recent State of Play, and it looks like this is only the start for the series. KONAMI has confirmed that several new projects are in the works as the franchise reaches its 40th anniversary. That alone has fans paying attention again.

The new game takes place years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse and long after Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. This time, the action shifts to 15th-century Paris. Monsters have taken over the city. A Belmont successor must step in and fight back using the famous Vampire Killer whip.
Combat looks familiar but expanded. Players will use spells, weapons, and careful timing. Exploration also seems important. Evil Empire and Motion Twin hinted that hidden paths, puzzles, and traps will reward curious players.
The whip is no longer just for fighting. It now helps movement too. Swinging across gaps and reaching secret rooms should add variety to exploration. It may also change how battles are handled.
The game is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. For fans, it feels like Castlevania is finally active again.
