Revolution Software has officially launched Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars: Reforged, now available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. First unveiled at Gamescom 2023, this reimagined version of the beloved 1996 adventure game offers fans both old and new a chance to experience George and Nico’s thrilling mystery adventure, now enhanced with modern 4K visuals, reanimated characters, and improved audio.
A modernised classic
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars: Reforged represents a significant overhaul of the original game, bringing players from Paris to the mountains of Syria and the Spanish coastline in a stunning new visual format. Backgrounds have been completely repainted using the original line art by Don Bluth layout artists, and character sprites have been redrawn and reanimated to add an extra layer of detail to this iconic adventure.
The audio has also received a significant upgrade, enhancing the dialogue and soundtrack composed by the late Barrington Pheloung. Players can also look forward to a new “story mode,” offering a balanced blend of narrative and gameplay, perfect for newcomers to the franchise.
