Borderlands 4 is officially locked and loaded for September 12, 2025. Revealed in a brand-new trailer shared across the official Borderlands social channels ( screenshot included below), the next looter-shooter from Gearbox is shaping up to be the wildest ride yet, complete with new movement mechanics, outrageous action, and the over-the-top loot chaos fans live for.

Welcome to Kairos
Set on the dangerous and mysterious new planet Kairos, Borderlands 4 introduces players to a fresh playground for Mayhem. This hostile world is packed with new enemies, explosive weaponry, and a full range of mobility tools that completely change the feel of combat. Expect to glide, dodge, and grapple your way through the battlefield as you unleash your Vault Hunter’s unique Action Skills to devastating effect.
New movement, new mayhem
The trailer gives us a glimpse of some high-octane encounters, with a renewed focus on fluidity and skill expression. Movement abilities like fixed-point grappling, dodging, and gliding let you deal death from every direction—whether you’re raining bullets from above or zipping between cover like a neon blur. It’s classic Borderlands mayhem with a serious upgrade.

Loot, laughs, and Vault Hunters
Expect all the loot-hunting chaos the series is known for, plus a cast of new and returning Vault Hunters—each with their own devastating loadouts and wild personalities. The arsenal looks chunkier than ever, and the enemies? Outrageous. Exactly how we like it.
Gameplay reveal coming soon
If this teaser wasn’t enough, there’s more on the way. The full gameplay reveal for Borderlands 4 will drop during an upcoming PlayStation State of Play later this spring. Until then, you can wishlist the game now ahead of its launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
