Blue Prince, one of 2025’s standout puzzle rogue-likes, has been cleared of sudden Generative AI allegations. The claims surfaced after Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lost its Indie Game Awards wins for suspected AI usage, thrusting AI ethics in games back into the spotlight.
Blue Prince publisher stands by human-led development
Raw Fury, the publisher behind the game, responded publicly, calling the allegations “baseless.” According to their statement, the game was “built and crafted with full human instinct by Tonda Ros (Dogubomb) & his team” over eight years, with no AI involved at any stage.

The controversy highlights the growing scrutiny around AI in game development, especially after The Indie Game Awards banned AI-assisted projects from consideration.

Despite the allegations, Blue Prince retains its Best Independent Game title, proving that human creativity still has a strong place in 2025’s gaming scene.
