The remake was a success, receiving high ratings from both players and critics. On Metacritic, the game scored 86/100, while OpenCritic gave it 88/100. It also won several awards, including Game of the Year 2024 from IGN Japan and Best Horror Game of the Year from the IGN Community Awards.

New project confirmed

After the success of Silent Hill 2, KONAMI and Bloober Team decided to continue working together. They have now signed a new agreement for another project. While there are no details yet, it is confirmed that the game will be based on KONAMI’s intellectual property. KONAMI will remain the publisher and owner of the game.

Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, said:

“Our collaboration with KONAMI has been very successful. The success of Silent Hill 2 proves that we work well together. We cannot share much information yet, but we believe fans will be excited about our next project. We can’t wait to show something special when the time is right.”

What could this mean for Silent Hill fans?

Since the next game will be based on KONAMI’s property, many fans are hoping for another Silent Hill game. However, it is still unclear whether it will be a remake of another Silent Hill title or a completely new game in the series.

For now, fans will have to wait for more details. But with the success of Silent Hill 2, expectations are high for Bloober Team’s next project.
