BenQ, the pioneer in premium monitor lighting solutions, has just launched its latest innovation — the ScreenBar Halo 2. Designed with professionals in mind, this next-generation flagship monitor light offers unmatched eye comfort, smart features, and a sleek new look, making it ideal for long working hours in dim or low-light environments.
After four years of development, the ScreenBar Halo 2 arrives with several major improvements over the previous model. One of the most impressive updates is its Tri-zone Backlight Design, which increases rear lighting coverage by an incredible 423%. This helps reduce harsh contrasts between the screen and the surrounding space, easing eye strain and making extended use more comfortable.
At the front, the Halo 2 continues to use BenQ’s ASYM-Light technology, featuring an 18-degree cut-off angle that keeps light away from your eyes and eliminates screen glare. This thoughtful design helps maintain visual clarity without distraction, perfect for tasks like video editing, content creation, and reading.

A research partnership with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology guided the light’s design, reinforcing that maintaining an ideal ambient luminance ratio—no more than 3:1 between screen and background—plays a big role in preventing visual fatigue. The ScreenBar Halo 2 has been carefully engineered to meet this ANSI-recommended standard.
“We know professionals demand precision in lighting,” said JC Pan, Chief Product Designer at BenQ Smart Lighting. “That’s why we revamped the control knob. It’s now anti-fingerprint, super easy to use, and lets you adjust brightness from 0 to 100%, and colour temperature from 2700K to 6500K — just right for sensitive tasks like photo or video editing.”
BenQ also redesigned the mounting system to offer greater compatibility and ease of use. Drawing inspiration from the gravity-based design of the ScreenBar Pro, the new zinc-alloy clamp works with everything from ultra-slim displays to curved monitors, and it rests gently on the screen instead of clipping on, avoiding any damage. “It’s much more screen-friendly,” added Judy Yang, Lead Mechanical Engineer.

Smart features round out the package, including auto-dimming, auto on/off, and memory settings that save your preferences. The product was co-designed by MINIMAL Design, the studio led by former Nike Global Creative Director Scott Wilson, giving it a premium metallic finish that blends beautifully with any modern workspace.
To mark the launch, BenQ has also announced a global #ElevatewithHalo campaign. As part of this, the company is giving away 50 free units of the ScreenBar Halo 2 in select regions. Users just need to complete a short questionnaire about their workspace setup to participate. Winners will be encouraged to share how the light improves their workflow and comfort.
