Battlefield 6 is flying high, officially crossing the 10 million sales mark across all platforms, according to Alinea Analytics. It’s a massive win for EA and easily the biggest launch in the series’ history, powered by its strong Steam numbers and the success of its battle royale mode. Still, even with this momentum, analysts say it’s not enough to shake Call of Duty’s iron grip on the market.

Battlefield 6’s success shows goodwill pays off

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Rhys Elliot from Alinea Analytics said Battlefield 6’s success comes from “a huge amount of goodwill” following major improvements since Battlefield 2042. Fans have praised its smoother gameplay and stronger post-launch support. But Elliot notes that Call of Duty’s reach is on another level. Its player base spans consoles and PC, with millions of casual fans buying each new release out of habit and brand loyalty.

While Battlefield’s community is growing, Call of Duty continues to dominate thanks to Warzone’s constant updates, in-game promotions, and non-stop visibility. Battlefield 6 may have reclaimed its identity, but it’s still fighting in Call of Duty’s shadow.
