If you’re worried about PC specs, don’t be. If you built a rig in the last five years, you’re good.

Assault class gets a teamplay makeover

DICE has revealed some big changes to the Assault class for this beta. The new Commanding Presence trait replaces Enhanced Mobility. It speeds up objective captures and helps squads exit combat status quicker. Also, the Deploy Beacon is moving from Recon to Assault. It’s now a frontline tool, with limited uses per squad. If the Assault player spawns on it, it self-destructs. You can check out their article on X for more details.

There’s also a new gadget called the Assault Ladder. It can be deployed as a ladder or a ramp, letting squads reach new areas and outflank enemies.

Engineers are staying the same for now. Support may get tweaks to supply crate refresh rates and how weapon buffs affect game flow.

Recon is getting a shakeup. The Pathfinder training is being replaced with Spec Ops, which focuses on stealth and gadget detection. Recon players will also get a Level 3 Active Ability, a UAV call-in for passive enemy spotting.

Skill-based matchmaking will be in effect

Matchmaking will take multiple factors into account, including ping, location, server load, and yes, skill. The exact system is under wraps, but the goal is to create fairer matches.

On PC, Battlefield 6 is officially partnered with Intel, but don’t worry, it will support all upscalers.
