Battlefield 6 isn’t live yet, but people are already jumping into the game. The open beta’s preload kicked off on August 4, and within hours, nearly 10,000 players had the game running on Steam. That’s before a single match has even started.

On August 4, the open beta client for Battlefield 6 hit a peak of 9,463 concurrent players on Steam. These players are just sitting in the menu, waiting for the servers to go live on August 7. That’s some serious anticipation.

And Steam is only part of the picture. Preloading is also up on PS5, Xbox, and the EA app. So the real number of people locked and loaded is way higher. The open beta could be a massive hit.

Battlefield 6 early access kicks off August 7

If you signed up for Battlefield Labs before July 31, or you’re an EA Play Pro subscriber, you’re in on day one. Twitch drops are also giving out early codes. For everyone else, the beta opens wider on August 9-10, and then again for a second round from August 14-17.

The full release of Battlefield 6 is set for October 10 on PS5, Xbox, and PC. That’s exactly one month before Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is rumoured to drop on November 14.

Battlefield is back in the fight. And it’s bringing big numbers even before the first bullet is fired.
