EA used Sony’s State of Play to finally bring back something fans have been asking for: a full campaign in Battlefield 6.
It’s been years since the series offered a proper story mode. The last few entries dropped single-player entirely, leaving many players disappointed. Now, that gap is being filled with a brand-new squad-based campaign that puts tactics front and centre.

You’ll take charge of Dagger 13, a team of specialists built around classic Battlefield classes. Haz Carter fills the Assault role, Dylan Murphy takes Engineer, Simone “Gecko” Espina handles Recon, and Cliff Lopez steps in as Support. Each character brings unique abilities, and you’ll be switching between them as missions play out.

Creative director Roman Campos-Oriola described the squad as “the key to accomplishing your mission.” You’ll command allies to suppress enemies, cover flanks, and open up opportunities for grenades or sniper shots. It’s about using teamwork and positioning, not just reflexes.
That mix of tight first-person combat with tactical squad play feels like something Battlefield is uniquely built for. The campaign aims to deliver a story-driven mode that still captures the chaos the series is known for.

Battlefield 6 launches on 10 October 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox. Fans of big action and bigger explosions finally have a reason to dive into single-player again.
