Aya Games has announced that its surreal narrative platformer, Ayasa: Shadows of Silence, will officially launch on September 25th for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. To mark the news, a brand-new release date trailer has been released, showcasing the game’s hauntingly beautiful world of light, shadow, and moral choice.
A wordless dark tale
Unlike most story-driven games, Ayasa: Shadows of Silence ditches dialogue entirely. Instead, the tale unfolds through pantomime, striking imagery, and a soundtrack inspired by the works of Komitas. Aya Games cites influences ranging from René Laloux and Robert Sahakyants to Hayao Miyazaki and Tim Burton — a mix that gives the game its surreal, dreamlike tone.
At the heart of the story is Ayasa, a girl traversing fractured realms where ideals like Love, Faith, and Hope clash with darker forces like Greed, Betrayal, and Indifference. Every land embodies a moral struggle, and your actions will decide whether Ayasa finds redemption or slips into ruin.
Powers in the shadows
Gameplay blends 2.5D platforming, puzzle-solving, and survival sequences, with Ayasa wielding a suite of strange abilities to progress. Time manipulation, invisibility, and energy control allow players to bend the rules of her strange world, whether slipping past dangers or unlocking hidden paths.
