Ubisoft has dropped the Assassin’s Creed Shadows 1.1.1 update, a hefty patch that lands just before the first expansion, Claws of Awaji, arrives on 16 September.

The update is live today at 2 PM UTC and comes in chunky sizes – 42 GB on PC, 33 GB on Xbox Series X|S, and 12.94 GB on PS5. Once installed, players unlock a new free quest, “Go with the Bo,” introducing the Bo staff as a weapon for Naoe.

Big upgrades and free legacy gear for Shadows

The level cap has been raised to 100, while Hideouts gain 20 new upgrades and three more levels. Time-skipping between day and night finally makes its debut, and two new gear tiers – Mythic and Artifact – push progression further.

For long-time fans, Ezio Auditore’s robes, an Assassin’s Creed II Kusarigama, an exclusive pet, and a Firenze Trinket can all be unlocked for free through the Animus Hub. Ubisoft has also removed the 30 FPS lock from cutscenes on PC.

This marks the last major update before Claws of Awaji expands Assassin’s Creed Shadows with new content next week. The stage is set – now it’s on the players to sharpen their blades.
