GoldFire Studios has officially released its long-awaited sci-fi narrative thriller Arctic Awakening, now available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The launch trailer teases a survival mystery where the frozen wilderness hides more than just snowdrifts.
Lost in the storm
Players step into the boots of Kai, a pilot stranded after a catastrophic storm sends his aircraft crashing into the Arctic. Struggling against the elements would be enough of a challenge, but there are deeper mysteries buried under the ice. With the help of Alfie, an unwanted therapy bot assigned by the courts, Kai must search for his missing co-pilot while unravelling secrets that could change everything he thought he knew.
Survival meets storytelling
Unlike traditional survival sims, Arctic Awakening leans into its narrative heart. Choices you make influence not just how Kai relates to those around him, but how the story itself unfolds. The environment itself plays a role, with dynamic weather systems, vast frozen landscapes, and mysterious sci-fi structures providing both wonder and danger.
A cast that brings the cold to life
The game features full voice acting under the direction of Julian Kwasneski (LucasArts, Telltale, Firewatch) and narrative consultancy from Evan Skolnick (LucasArts, Marvel, Telltale). Bringing the characters to life are actors including Jason Maniccia, Alejandro Saab, Dave B. Mitchell, Cia Court, and Mara Junot—adding warmth to a story set in one of the coldest places imaginable.
