Bungie is giving Marathon players an early look at what’s coming in patch 1.0.6, and if you’re a Recon main, you’ll want to pay attention.

Echo Pulse and Tracker Drone are getting reworked

Shared via the Marathon Dev Team’s X ahead of the April 14 update, the changes centre on the Recon Shell’s two signature abilities. Echo Pulse is being toned down in terms of enemy visibility opponents will now have a harder time determining whether they’re within range of an incoming attack, giving Recon players a meaningful tactical edge.

There’s also a neat interaction for Signal Jammer users. If you trigger a Signal Jammer before firing off your Echo Pulse, you’ll now appear as UESC to enemies. It’s a small change, but one that opens up some interesting play.

Tracker Drone is becoming more aggressive

The Tracker Drone is getting a notable buff, too. Bungie is increasing its tracking strength and, perhaps more importantly, giving it the ability to acquire a new target if it can’t reach its original one. In practice, that means fewer wasted drones and more pressure on enemies.

Bungie has reaffirmed its commitment to Marathon’s long-term support, with the full patch notes for version 1.0.6 still to come before launch on April 14.
