Capcom has lifted the curtain on new gameplay for Resident Evil: Requiem, and it is clear the spotlight is firmly on Leon Kennedy this time. With the game set to launch on 27 February 2026, the showcase gave fans a strong idea of how the experience will be split between its two leads.

Game director Koshi Nakanishi opened the presentation with a playful nod to earlier rumours, before explaining how Leon and Grace will offer very different tones. Grace’s sections lean harder into slow-burn horror, drawing clear inspiration from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 7. Leon, on the other hand, is all about momentum and combat.

The footage showed Leon in top form, dropping enemies with precise shots to the legs, finishing them up close, and even parrying attacks using a hatchet. It feels deliberately close to the action-heavy design that made RE 4 so memorable, just pushed further with modern systems.
Story-wise, Requiem is set after RE 6, with hints that Leon will be tested more than ever. The showcase also confirmed support for Nvidia GeForce Now, a casual difficulty option, deluxe editions, themed hardware, and even future Amiibo plans.

With release now just weeks away, Capcom is clearly not done building anticipation.
