Subway Surfers is officially getting a sequel, and it is coming very soon. Titled Subway Surfers City, the new game launches on 26 February 2026, with pre-registration now live on mobile platforms.
Revealed in a post on X, the sequel promises a fresh take on the endless runner formula. Developer SYBO has also shared new details through a press release, outlining what players can expect when the game goes live.
Subway Surfers City introduces new gameplay ideas and multiple modes
One of the biggest upgrades is how players interact with the world. A new stomp move allows players to reveal hidden advantages during a run, while a bouncy bubblegum shield improves jump height and movement control. These mechanics add more decision-making instead of relying only on reflexes.

The game will feature three main modes at launch. Classic Endless keeps the traditional high-score chase intact. City Tour offers a more structured experience, with levels, missions, districts to explore, and hidden stars to collect. Events mode will rotate limited-time runs and special challenges to keep things fresh.
The original Subway Surfers surpassed 4.5 billion lifetime downloads in 2025, becoming the most downloaded mobile game of all time. That gives Subway Surfers City a lot to live up to.

Players can pre-register now on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store ahead of launch.
