After the huge success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios is preparing to return to the Divinity universe. This time, the studio is sticking with a familiar approach. Early access is once again part of the plan.

In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, studio head Swen Vincke confirmed that the next Divinity game will launch in early access, just like Divinity: Original Sin, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and Baldur’s Gate 3. For Larian, this model is not an experiment. It is how their games are made.

Vincke explained that community feedback is a core part of development. Players help fine-tune mechanics, balance combat, and improve pacing. The process demands extra effort from the team, but it leads to stronger results. According to Vincke, early access helps games grow faster and keeps players invested throughout development.

The upcoming Divinity title will be turn-based, staying true to the series’ roots. While a release window has not been confirmed, Vincke offered a rough timeline in a separate Bloomberg interview. He believes a three to four-year development cycle is healthier than the six years spent on Baldur’s Gate 3, which faced delays due to COVID-19 and other challenges.

For fans, this is classic Larian. Community-driven development, long-term support, and a clear focus on delivering a better RPG in the end.
