Immortals Fenyx Rising is now free on Ubisoft Connect, and you can claim it on PC until 2 December. Ubisoft is using the giveaway to mark the fifth anniversary of its platform, and it’s a solid chance to try one of the studio’s more overlooked open-world adventures.

How the Immortals Fenyx Rising was received at release

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the team behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and the newly released Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the game first arrived in December 2020. It earned a warm reception at launch.

The free version is the Standard Edition, but the DLCs are heavily discounted right now. A New God, The Lost Gods, and Myths of the Eastern Realm are available for £2.30 each (originally $2.80), while the Season Pass is down to £5.80 (originally $7.00). If you want the full experience, this is one of the cheapest ways to get it.

Back in 2022, an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel was said to be in early development and focused on Hawaiian Polynesian culture. But in July 2023, Ubisoft cancelled the project so Ubisoft Quebec could concentrate fully on Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Elsewhere, Ubisoft has delayed its quarterly and half-year financial results. The sudden move has fuelled talk of a major announcement, with Tencent repeatedly mentioned as a possible buyer.
