Bohemia Interactive has unveiled the first public trailer for Cosmo Tales, its quirky new space adventure that swaps military realism for something far stranger: a wisecracking car that can shift between dimensions.
Revealed behind closed doors at Gamescom 2025, the footage is now live for everyone to see, offering a colourful first look at the episodic single-player adventure. It’s a striking departure from the studio best known for Arma and DayZ, leaning into bold sci-fi flair, cartoon energy, and a whole lot of interdimensional chaos.
A car that’s more than a ride
At the heart of Cosmo Tales is your “cosmobile”, a fully voiced, sentient vehicle that fights, cracks jokes, and keeps you company as you barrel roll through cosmic deserts, doughnut-shaped planets, and rainbow galaxies. It’s not just a ship; it’s a character with its own personality, making the journey feel like a Saturday morning cartoon with stakes.
Shifting dimensions, shifting gameplay
The key hook lies in instant dimension switching. With one click, the rules of the universe change, altering visuals, puzzle mechanics, and combat flow. A tense fight with enemy squadrons might flip into a tactical puzzle, or a deadly trap might become a chance to turn the battlefield to your advantage. It’s a system designed to feel fresh every time you use it.

Action, puzzles, and cosmic weirdness
From dogfighting alien fleets to solving strange spatial riddles, Cosmo Tales blends third-person space combat with handcrafted, stylised worlds. Each dimension feels like a new chapter in a psychedelic comic book, with a mix of zany characters, surreal landscapes, and bosses on a cosmic scale.
Bohemia is positioning Cosmo Tales as accessible enough for younger players and newcomers, while still layering in depth for veterans who want a challenge. The episodic structure means every sector plays like its own self-contained story, with an overarching journey tying everything together.
Release window
Cosmo Tales will launch in Early Access in 2026, with Bohemia Interactive promising more details in the coming months. In the meantime, you can wishlist the game on Steam and follow the studio on social channels for updates.
