This is no small feat. Snake Eater is a full remake of the 2004 classic Metal Gear Solid 3, rebuilt with modern graphics, 3D audio, and upgraded gameplay options. The gripping Cold War tale, legendary characters, and iconic soundtrack are all back, but now wrapped in a much more immersive package.

Players can dive in with a modernised control scheme or stick with the classic feel. Snake’s injuries and torn clothes now show in real time, adding to the survival edge that defined the original.

There’s also a stack of extra modes. PlayStation 5 and PC users get Snake vs. Monkey, while Xbox players take on Snake vs. Bomberman. The Fox Hunt online multiplayer arrives in autumn 2025, blending stealth with hide-and-seek gameplay. Extras like the Secret Theater and a reimagined Guy Savage Delta mini-game are also waiting to be unlocked.

A milestone launch for one of gaming’s most iconic names.
