Black Ops 7 drops November 14 but Switch 2 players are left out in the cold

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on 14 November, according to reliable insider Billbil-kun. The news lines up with a previous rumour from TheGhostofHope last month on X. But there’s a catch: no version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is planned, at least for now.

Black Ops 7 skips Switch 2

That detail has sparked debate in the Call of Duty community. Back in February 2023, Microsoft announced a ten-year deal with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to its platforms. Yet no entry has made it to a Nintendo system so far.

With Switch 2’s stronger hardware, many expected Black Ops 7 to be the first step. After all, the game is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On paper, Switch 2 shouldn’t struggle to run it. But clearly, something is holding it back.

For now, Black Ops 7 will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC. Console players can also grab a physical edition at €79.99 (around £67).

Pre-orders are expected to go live on 20 August, right after the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase.

So, the big questions remain: will Switch 2 ever get its own Black Ops 7 port, or is Nintendo still on the sidelines?
