Elysium Game Studio has dropped a brand-new Gamescom 2025 gameplay trailer for Neo Berlin 2087. The footage highlights the upgrades made over the past year, showing off more polish and new gameplay tweaks.

You can switch between first-person and third-person views, all built in Unreal Engine 5. Neo Berlin 2087 promises a deep, cinematic detective story set in a dark, futuristic Berlin. You’ll step into the shoes of Detective Nolan, a man with the rare ability to read human behaviour.
You have to track down clues and even hack into suspects’ minds. Every emotion, thought, and memory becomes a lead in a huge conspiracy about justice, friendship, love, guilt, sacrifice, and betrayal.
This isn’t a AAA project, though. It’s an indie, AA title. The visuals look sharp, but the voice acting leans amateur. If you expect blockbuster polish, you might be disappointed. But for some, that’s not a deal-breaker.
The game clearly takes cues from Deus Ex and Max Payne, including slow-motion third-person shootouts and a moody cyberpunk vibe. With no new Deus Ex in sight, this could help fill the gap.
The devs have been consistent in showing gameplay, which inspires more confidence than other mysterious projects. Still, there will be mixed reactions online as always; some will nitpick every detail.
