SK Studios has just dropped the free PC demo for Shadow Project, and if you’re into narrative-heavy horror FPS games like STALKER or Metro, this one’s worth a look. It’s tense and dripping with Cold War paranoia – and now you can try it yourself.

The demo packs in two full levels, giving you over an hour of playtime, plus six tracks from the game’s soundtrack. Everything’s fully optimised, the UI is in place, and you can tweak the gameplay to your liking. Alongside it, there’s a new gameplay trailer showing a much more polished look compared to its reveal. Take a look at the trailer below.

The story throws you deep into Soviet territory to sabotage a secret experiment. How you handle it is up to you – charge in with Cold War-era firepower, slip past guards unnoticed, or find hidden paths to outsmart the enemy.

You’ll explore wide-open areas, creep through claustrophobic tunnels, manage scarce supplies, and upgrade weapons with custom parts.

Shadow Project is built in Unity and was planned for 2025, but it’s now aiming for a 2026 release. The demo’s live now – so are you brave enough to survive the shadows?
