Square Enix has announced The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, a new HD-2D action RPG developed by Claytechworks, the studio behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default.

It launches in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store), and Nintendo Switch 2.

A Switch 2-exclusive “Debut Demo” is available now through the Nintendo eShop. It features exploration and combat gameplay. A survey for player feedback will follow at a later date.

A journey across time and a continent filled with danger in Adventures of Elliot

The Adventures of Elliot is set in a world where humans survive inside the Kingdom of Huther, protected by a magical barrier. After ancient ruins are discovered, an adventurer named Elliot and his fairy companion Faie journey beyond the barrier. Their quest spans both the continent and a thousand years of lost history.

Gameplay focuses on real-time action combat with support abilities provided by Faie. Players explore the continent, open new paths, and uncover the world’s secrets.

The game features the studio’s signature HD-2D visuals, combining pixel art with modern effects.

A full launch is planned for 2026, but Switch 2 users can try the demo now.
