Skydance New Media has officially delayed the highly anticipated Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra to early 2026. The title was originally set to launch sometime in 2025, but the development team has decided to take more time to refine and polish the game.

In an official message shared by the studio, the team said:

“We have an important update: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now be launching in early 2026.
Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience, and one that lives up to our vision.
We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon!
—The Marvel 1943 Team”

The announcement, while disappointing for fans eager to get their hands on the new Marvel adventure, shows that the developers are aiming for a high-quality release rather than rushing the product out.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is being developed by Skydance New Media, a division led by Amy Hennig, best known for her work on the Uncharted series. The game is set during World War II and will feature a unique team-up between Captain America and Black Panther (T’Challa’s grandfather, Azzuri), among other characters. This unusual pairing is expected to offer a fresh take on both characters as they fight against the growing threat of Hydra during the war.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra – High hopes for Skydance’s debut

The game was first revealed during D23 Expo 2022 and has generated considerable buzz due to its narrative-driven approach and promising cinematic style. It will be Skydance New Media’s debut title, and expectations are high considering the team’s industry veterans.

Interestingly, the platforms for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra have still not been confirmed. With the delay pushing the release closer to the mid-2020s, many expect the game to be targeted at current-gen systems such as PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC. However, official announcements are still pending.

For now, fans will have to wait a little longer, but the extra development time may be worth it if the game can deliver a polished and powerful Marvel narrative experience.
