Are you ready for some Brute Force? A strong title, for the start of the year at the very least.

We love the regular releases of the Operations in Halo Infinite, and we’re now in the latest one! Operation Brute Force. As always, bringing more free stuff and new maps/game modes.

Running from 7th January to 4th February, the Operation Brute Force event marks the grand finale of the 2024 Winter Update.

So, what awaits you in Operation: Brute Force? Let’s have a look.

Castle Wars: CTF Evolved

A fresh take on Capture the Flag, Castle Wars is an 8v8 mode where tactics and melee moves will make all the difference. Storm the enemy castle, breach their defences with your Grappleshot, and snatch the flag in daring hit-and-run strikes.

Battle it out across a range of stunning maps, including:

  • Gothic: A spooky, gothic-inspired fortress. (Is that Count Orlok lurking in the shadows?)
  • Harvesters: Take the fight to dizzying heights on these Covenant mining platforms.
  • Gondolas: Because what’s a Halo game without a good gondola ride? (Don’t forget to shoot!)
  • Yosai: A classic Japanese-inspired fortress, perfect for epic standoffs.
  • Sunken: Explore mysterious alien ruins while battling for the flag.
  • Promenade: Master the art of combat in this sprawling urban environment.
  • Nadair: Ancient fortifications provide the backdrop for intense firefights.
  • Jarok Bridge: Prepare for explosive encounters on this iconic bridge.

Pardon my French, but holy shit, this is a lot of maps for a new game mode!

Brute Force - Action Sack

Action sack

Fans of classic Halo multiplayer will be thrilled with the return of Action Sack.

This playlist promises a mix of weird and wild modes, harking back to the glory days of Halo 2. Keep your eyes peeled for more details on the specific modes coming to Action Sack later in the Operation.

Operation Brute Force is pulling out all the stops!

Operation Pass: Unleash your inner Brute

Embrace the brute force philosophy with the free 20-tier Operation Pass. I cannot get over how many free passes we get in Halo Infinite. Sure, the content isn’t always wonderful. But new, free gear is always welcome.

Unlock the menacing Brute-inspired Dominar armour set, along with the Wild Slant armour coating and the Banished Morale Improver weapon charm.

The exchange, shop, and more!

Don’t forget to visit The Exchange to spend your hard-earned Spartan Points on a range of new MIRAGE IIC armour customisations. And be sure to check out the Shop for the latest bundles, including the Savage Inciter super bundle with the intimidating Escharum’s Regards Death FX and the Warmonger bundle.

Operation: Brute Force is live now! So, ditch the subtlety and embrace the brute force approach. Storm those castles, dominate the battlefield, and unleash your inner Jiralhanae!

Halo Infinite soldiers on

There was plenty of commentary around the state of Halo Infinite at its release. For good reason, too. The multiplayer had issues, for sure. But look at it now.

Halo Studios has released so much free content. Regular, themed updates and modes. Armour cores, paints, emotes, cosmetics. We’ve gone from not even being able to paint our armour consistently across sets, to mixing and matching as we see fit.

The gameplay is in a great spot. Modern Halo still feels like Halo, yet it’s modern and faster-paced. With Firefight and a big open-world campaign, it’s really hard to argue that Halo Infinite isn’t a solid package all-around at this point. Sure, it didn’t barge onto the scene with Brute Force, but damn, it’s made its way to where it needed to be, now.

How much are you playing Halo Infinite these days? When you can knock out the free passes in a few hours, there’s no reason to not get stuck in!
