It has been quite some time since we’ve been allowed to shop with such freedom due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but as restrictions have lifted we’re able to get out on the high street again. Combined with how much we can access online through various retailers, we’re set for a massive Black Friday today!.
So, to help you out, here are some of the top tech and gaming deals we’ve managed to find. Many of which are not just available for Black Friday, but will carry through to Cyber Monday the other side of the weekend.
Amazon
As usual, there is a vast amount of stuff available on Amazon, with some big discounts on their own tech. You can pick yourself up a TV Fire Stick for as little as £14.99, their Echo Dot speakers from £18.99 and their Fire Tablets starting at £29.99. There are so many new devices they’ve released too, and bundles they’ve put together to save you even bigger discounts.
They’ve also some special deals on their streaming services like Amazon Music Unlimited too. Plus the numerous prices they’ve matched of other retailers who have reduced prices on video games, consoles and cool techy gadgets. And if you haven’t already got Prime, you can sign up for a free trial for 30-days to take advantage of free next day or selected day delivery.
Consoles
Many places are still struggling to get stock in for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and the new OLED Switch, which means there are very few deals around for these. However, you can pick up the original Switch which is currently on sale for £230 at Morrisons, or there are many bundles around that come with games such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which aren’t that much more and are excellent value for money.
Games
Tesco has some incredible offers for Black Friday, as long as you are signed up to their Clubcard. Although if you’re not, it only takes a few minutes, and it’s free. Doing so is worthwhile too as it could help you grab a copy of Crash Bandicoot 4 on Xbox for just £5, but the offers don’t just stop there, they have lots of other titles also with massive discounts across different platforms.
As well as Tesco, you also have the online stores that have their own sales. The PlayStation Store for example has an up to 60% off sale, but then you can also maximise those savings by purchasing discounted top-up cards from the likes of CD-Keys, who send you your codes to redeem with instant delivery by email. And they too will have their own sale going live as well, but even before then, they have the likes of Control and Dragon Age: Inquisition available for PC for just 19p.
As for actual game retailers, because physical games tend to be somewhat cheaper than digital versions of games. UK retailer GAME has up to 50% off, plus you can get a £5 off voucher when you spend over £50. So if you’re heading out on the high street, they are a great place to look out for some top titles.
Tech
Sticking with GAME for a second, they do have a Black Friday similar deal to many retailers for the Oculus Quest 2. The 128GB version is £299, but you get a free £50 GAME voucher with the purchase. Curry’s are doing a similar offer, as are John Lewis. Buying direct from the Oculus website gets you £50 store credit, but the best personally, is with Very, who you can get £50 cashback from, making it £249. Because realistically, there are enough free bits to keep you entertained, and if you purchase games today, you’ll probably not need £50 to get all you need with Black Friday sales everywhere.
If you’re on the lookout for monitors, peripherals, new phones and more, then ebuyer have an excellent Black Friday sale right now, as do other retailers such as SCAN, Currys and Overclockers. If you’re looking for a new graphics card though, stock on newer models is still running low, so it’s always worthwhile signing up to stock alert websites or discord groups, to alert you as soon as they’re available just in case they come in this weekend.
If you’re looking for gadgets such as smartwatches, electric scooters and tablets, then why not check out Gearbest? They have some huge discounts on top brands such as Xiaomi and much of it is in stock for quick delivery. Can’t find what you’re looking for there? There are also alternate websites that stock similar products such as GeekBuying.com who have up to 80% off many of their electronics and we have a couple of reviews coming up soon for some of their offerings.
Kitting out your Gamer Room
Want a fancy new standing desk? Flexispot has your backs, with huge discounts across their range. You may remember our recent review of one of their standing desks and now they’re all coming down in price. The E8 Standing Desk is 26% off at just £309.99, the H1 desk is 50% off at just £99.99 and if you want to make use of any Prime benefits you may have, you can also get much of their stock discounted on Amazon too, not just on their own website.
There are also places like Displate who are offering up to 41% off on their metal artwork, some of the retailers we’ve also mentioned also have ambient lighting at discount as well. And if you want to try your hand at winning some top bits to kit out your gaming room, then RaffledUp have lots of prizes up for grabs, with 25% off for any raffles that go live this weekend. And don’t forget if you use our friend’s code “ninjarefinery” then you can get 10% off your purchase anyway.
