WB Games Montréal might be diving back into DC with new live service game

WB Games Montréal could be making another DC Comics game. A new job post points to it being a live service title.

Back in October 2024, the studio posted a listing for a new DC game. That wasn’t a surprise. They’ve only made DC games, Arkham Origins in 2013, and Gotham Knights in 2022.

Now there’s another listing. This time, it’s for an Executive Producer. And it mentions live service features.

One line reads:

“Oversee all phases of development, from concept to post-launch live operations.”

Another says:

“Oversee post-launch content and live service strategy.”

That’s enough to raise red flags.

Fans are still recovering from Suicide Squad

People aren’t thrilled as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was also a DC live service game. It flopped hard. The game led to a $200 million loss for Warner Bros. Games. Their revenue dropped 41% compared to the Hogwarts Legacy launch.

It shook the fanbase. And it seems the company hasn’t learned from it.

Despite that failure, WB Games is still pushing live service. They’re also looking at turning Hogwarts Legacy into one.

Now it seems WB Games Montréal is on the same path.

Which DC hero is next?

No one knows which DC character the game will feature. The studio hasn’t said. But going by history, it could be someone from the Bat-family. Or maybe something new.

It’s too early to say much. But if you’re hoping for a single-player experience, you might want to lower your hopes.

We’ll keep watching. More news is bound to come.
