Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree demo drops with dungeon run

Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree has a free demo out now, letting you jump into its roguelite action ahead of release. Bandai Namco and developer Brownies confirmed that the demo is live on all platforms, giving a first taste of what’s to come when the full game arrives next month.

The demo takes you into Route 1 – The Outset, the first dungeon of the adventure. You’ll get to play as Rekka, Shigin, Origami, and Nishiki, each with their unique abilities. Between runs, you’ll return to Shinju Village, a hub where you can spend materials to improve your skills or just hang out with the villagers. The Blacksmith and Dojo are open for upgrades, and the game sprinkles in small story beats to bring the world to life.

It’s worth noting that demo progress won’t carry over to the final release, so this slice is more about trying the mechanics than grinding for an early advantage. Online multiplayer is also not included.

The full version of Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam on 19 September.

If you’re curious about the mix of fast combat, roguelite exploration, and cosy downtime in the village, now’s the perfect time to try it for yourself.
