Housemarque’s upcoming PS5 exclusive Saros has gone gold, the studio confirmed today, and yes, they made a point of clarifying it isn’t an April Fool’s joke.
What Saros going gold actually means
The announcement came via the official Housemarque X account, confirming the game has cleared its final development milestone a full month before its 30th April release date. Going gold means the build is finished and ready for physical manufacturing in other words, no delays on the horizon.

It’s a healthy sign for a title that’s been generating buzz since it featured during February 2026’s State of Play. The studio also recently posted multiple job openings for their next project, suggesting work is well underway beyond Saros.
Developed by the team behind Returnal, Saros puts players in the boots of Arjun Devraj, a Soltari enforcer navigating the shape-shifting world of Carcosa. The game centres on a Second Chance mechanic, a constantly evolving environment, and a high-tech arsenal designed around fluid, reactive combat dodge, shield, parry, and keep moving.
With gold status confirmed this early, Housemarque looks well placed for a clean launch. Saros arrives exclusively on PS5 on 30th April 2026.
