Resident Evil is getting a new spin. Resident Evil: Survival Unit is a mobile strategy game from Aniplex and JOYCITY. It launches in 2025 on iOS and Android. The game will be free to play and available worldwide.
This is not your usual Resident Evil game. It drops the slow horror for real-time tactics. You build a base, fight enemies, and manage a team. All in a world twisted by the Umbrella Corporation.
A new horror story begins
The game starts in a locked hospital. You play as a test subject used by Umbrella. The setting is a parallel world. The story is original but tied to the Resident Evil universe. Familiar characters return with new events and twists.
The gameplay blends strategy and survival. You make quick decisions and fight in real-time. It’s made for short, smart play sessions on mobile.

Build your mansion, plan your escape
Your home base is a mansion. Here, you prepare for missions and upgrade your team. You can decorate it and talk to the characters. It feels like a part of the Resident Evil world.
You’ll meet the classic Weapons Merchant too. He sells gear for your missions. Everything ties into the survival loop plan: buy, fight.
Fan-favourite heroes and new monsters
You can form teams with Leon, Claire, Jill, and others. Each has unique skills and roles. Mix and match for smart combos.
Battles are real-time defence missions. You fight off creatures using tactics and teamwork. Positioning and ability use are key.
Artist Yoshitaka Amano designed a new monster called Mortem. It’s creepy, mysterious, and adds a fresh scare to the series.
Resident Evil: Survival Unit changes the rules. It’s fast, tactical, and mobile-first. But it still keeps the heart of Resident Evil alive.
