Sony used its latest PlayStation State of Play to share fresh details on the upcoming Marvel Tokon. And yes, the game now has a firm launch date, 6 August 2026, on PC and PS5.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls – Unbreakable X-Men Trailer
The new Marvel Tokon trailer focused on the Unbreakable X-Men team. Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger join the playable roster. Each looks built for fast, flashy tag-team combat. It also confirms the game will launch with 20 fighters.

A big talking point is Episode Mode. This is the story mode. It blends manga art with Western comic ideas. Instead of normal cutscenes, the plot plays out as motion comics. That should give it a distinct feel.
According to the PlayStation Blog, this X-Men squad is all that remains ready for battle. Humanity still distrusts mutants. Yet they keep protecting Earth from a new threat. Producer Takeshi Yamanaka hints at tough choices ahead for the team.
One surprise absence: the FlexStrike fight stick. It was once linked with the game. Now, there is no clear launch plan.
More roster reveals will likely follow soon. For fighting game fans, August suddenly looks busy.
