Microsoft confirmed via Xbox Wire that the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will air on 7 June at 6 pm UK time, immediately followed by a dedicated Gears of War E-Day Direct offering gameplay, new details, and insight into the title’s origin story.
Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will feature first looks at gameplay alongside news from first-party studios and third-party partners. Given that 2026 marks Xbox’s 25th anniversary, Microsoft is also reviving Xbox FanFest alongside the event, a celebration that will look back on the platform’s history whilst teasing what lies ahead.

Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will broadcast globally with wide accessibility
For those unable to attend in person, the showcase will be livestreamed across YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook in over 40 languages, with support for American Sign Language, British Sign Language, and English Audio Descriptions.
The announcement follows an Xbox Partner Preview earlier this month, which brought confirmations for several notable titles including Stalker 2, Dispatch, and Hades 2. June’s showcase is expected to be a considerably larger affair.
Elsewhere, rumours are circulating of a new Xbox Game Pass tier that would cover first-party titles exclusively, though Microsoft has yet to comment.
